One of my amazing collector's wrote this beautiful testimonial about her and her fiance's experience working with me and the design process for their forever ring, and I have to share this lovely story with you all.
"Our desire to create a uniquely meaningful engagement ring began by meeting with Sarah at her tranquil studio in the woods. I had admired her beautiful creations online and felt that Sarah would be able to capture what we wanted. After that 1st meeting, we knew Sarah was the one. Her gentle spirit, positive energy and her desire to create an artistic symbol of our commitment to one another sealed the deal.
I met with Sarah several times to finalize the design. Sarah learned about my love of gingko trees. Gingkos are the oldest living species of trees…200 millions years old. They are a very strong tree and even survived the atomic blast in Japan. Their unique fan shaped leaves stand for peace, hope, harmony, strength, endurance, vitality and longevity. What a perfect symbol of our relationship!
Sarah and I sat enjoying the beautiful fall weather as she sketched. When she drew a design incorporating two different gingko leaves, we KNEW IT WAS IT!
For the past 30 years, I have worn silver, white gold or platinum. So at age 60, it was time to re-evaluate. When we decided on the gingko leaf design, we knew it had to be in yellow gold. We looked at 14K, 18K and 22K yellow gold and quickly found out that 14K complimented my skin tone best. Color theory in action.
Joe and I love blue stones…and we are both water signs and thought blue would be a wonderful representation of water/us. Using color theory, Sarah and I were excited and surprised at how the different shades of stones looked against my pale skin, and which colors/tones muddied out on me.
Sarah found the perfect stone…a 3.45ct clear, light blue Montana Sapphire from the Rock Creek Mine.
The sapphire for our water signs, the gingko leaves for our relationship and two very different leaves that represent my beautifully unique daughters. The sapphire was bezel set in white gold. Sarah also studied my hand and finger webbing and came up with a design that sits balanced on my hand. The design details, artistry and metal work are perfection.
I honestly could not be happier and more in love with my ring…. and my fiancé. ;) Not only do I know that I have a one in a million bespoke engagement ring, I also feel that I gained a trusted friend. I have sent others to Sarah for bespoke pieces and continually sing her praises. She is an amazing person and a fabulous artist, jewelry designer who puts her heart, soul and energy into every piece she creates."
